One of the most common eye sore in cars around Amsterdam and surrounding areas are dents in cars. It requires car dents repair. Most often these are caused by the vehicle hitting something, but sometimes the damaged vehicle was stationary and something comes and hits the vehicle. While careful driving, abundance of precaution and modern technologies like 360 degree cameras, radars, sensors etc can prevent the first cause, even the most modern technologies available in cars are unable to prevent the second cause of dents.
We use PDR (Paintless Dent Removal) techniques to remove a lot of dents, but this is time consuming and laborious work. It is ideal for many situations, where there is only a dent, but no paint damage. Where there is paint damage as well as dent, then it is faster, cheaper to restore the shape of the body panel using other methods. Paintless Dent Removal:
Paintless Dent Removal or Paintless Dent Repair is a method, a process of removing small dents, minor damage to metal parts of a vehicles body, that have not suffered damage to the paint. This process avoids the need to sand and repaint the area. For larger dents, this may not be the ideal repair method. This method is also not suitable for dents that have paint damage.

Ideally, a dent damage should be repaired as soon as possible. This is because metals have a shape memory. The sooner we attempt to take the metal back to its original shape, the more responsive the metal is and thus easier. That makes it faster, cheaper and with a better outcome. The longer the dent is left to its new shape, the more it settles in and acquires it as its shape. the paintwork, fillers, clear coat etc settle down in the new shape as well. After some years, if glue pulling is used to pop up the low parts, the paint is likely to come off, making it a dent and paint repair, rather than just dent repair work.

Our dent removal or dent repair process:
If the dent is small, and there is no paint damage, we can most likely restore the shape of the panel using Paintless Dent Repair techniques.
But if the dents are large or if there is paint damage, it would require dent removal using other methods and then paint repair work would follow. For repairing or removing dents, we use various methods
- For up to 2 euro coin size dents on straight panels, we use electromagnetic machines to heat and pull the dent out delicately. We do this by going inwards in a concentric circle, till the entire low part is lifted up.
- For dents that are large, but on a single panel, with no paint damage, there can be two different scenarios. First scenario is that the dent is only on an originally flat or curved surface. Other scenario is when dent goes across a crease line on the panel. The flat or curved surface dent is pulled using glue pulling. Dents going across a crease line would need to be pushed from the other side of the panel by removing inner trims.
- For dents that also have paintwork damage, it is best to use traditional repair methods as they are faster and cheaper, followed by fillers, sanding and painting work.
