Windshield
Windshield, or windscreen damage is one of the most common but riskiest form of damages to a car, that should never be ignored. When cars travel at high speeds on motorways, small stones or road debris can hit the windshield and cause small chips. If ignored, these develop into cracks. When cracks are on the driver side of a car, then those can not be repaired by law, the windshield must then be replaced entirely. Best to get the stone chips repaired as soon as possible to avoid much higher costs later.
We drill and clean up the damaged area, up to a maximum of 1 cm diameter, or bullseye pattern, and up to a maximum of 30 cms in case of cracks.
Windshield Repair:
Windshield or windscreen repair involves repairing small stone chips and cracks to windscreens. We use special methods to clean up the damaged area, make it smooth so that no air pockets remain when filler is applied. Then we inject bonding fillers into the cracks, holes or chips. These are then treated with UV light to harden them and become exactly like the glass. The area is then polished and cleaned, ready for testing and inspection. We then use special lights to test the repaired area for imperfections and repeat if necessary, to eliminate all impurities, air bubbles or any contamination that may still exist.
Using special lights, we can see the repaired area, these are not visible to untrained eyes. The repaired area becomes like the rest of the windshield. Most importantly, the possibility of it turning into a large crack, leading to windshield replacement, is eliminated. We use:

Ideally, a windshield damage should be repaired as soon as possible. This is because these can easily spread into cracks in several directions. Once a crack reaches the drivers side, it is no longer possible to repair by law. That makes it important to repair windshield chips as soon as they are spotted.

If the stone chip is just a single, small stone chip with no cracks, we can most likely repair it quickly for just 99 euros.
But if there are cracks on the windshield, or multiple stone chips, then charges would be higher as it involves much more work. Cracks can not be on drivers side.
- For small stone chips, we use special windshield drills to clean up the damaged part and create a smooth surface for further treatment. We then apply a 2 part filler with a bonding agent. This is cured and hardened using UV light. Once set, we smooth out the surface and polish the repaired area.
- For cracks, we work on identifying and isolating the entire damaged area to be repaired and use a similar process, starting from the origin of the crack.
- For multiple stone chips and cracks, we use the same processes multiple times, covering each of the damaged part one by one. This is time consuming, but much cheaper than replacing the entire glass.
